  1. Bit by the Travel Bug!

Having started my internship in the beginning of May, my 2 ½ months at Enjoy Taste are coming to a close. I have spent some time these past couple weeks utilizing my vacation days to venture off to NYC! NYC is truly mind-blowing and the adrenaline is what I strive for in a work environment. If I can afford it, I could defiantly see myself working there permanently. I hope to land a paid internship in the city next summer!

While back at the office this week (for my final week!), I was put in charge of creating a logo for an interactive social media site for local bars and customers. This site is a pro bono “twitter-like” blog, requested by a popular nightlife street beneath our office. The site is called Bartillary – Logo Attached.

I have also been given the time to research for my own interest.  I am really intrigued by the simplicity of Jquery and thus decided to practice creating slideshow transitions with JavaScript using Jquery. I am learning how to do a fade transition. The fade transition is relatively easy with Jquery, because it has built in functions for the transitions. I have been following tutorials in order to build the proper HTML and CSS shells to place the Jquery code in. I am enjoying how Jquery allows you to build cross-browser solutions without the need of Flash and look just as good.

Check back at the end of the week for my final reflection of my Summer 2010 Internship with Enjoy Taste LLC.
